The LEARN Method
AI is most helpful when it makes your next learning step clearer, not when it replaces the work your course is asking you to do.
Locate the goal
Read the assignment, rubric, and your school’s AI policy first. Identify the skill you are meant to practise.
Explain your attempt
Try the question or draft yourself. Share your reasoning, then ask the AI to identify one gap or give a hint rather than an answer.
Ask for evidence
Request definitions, counterexamples, and sources to verify. AI-generated citations can be wrong, so inspect original material.
Revise in your voice
Decide what to use, write the final work yourself, and disclose assistance when your teacher or institution requires it.
A useful test: if you could not explain the result without the chat open, you have more learning to do before you submit it.
