TH-AI Passport: what we know so far

TH-AI Passport is Thailand's programme to widen access to professional AI tools and practical AI skills. This page brings together the key details published by MDES, public programme documents, and trusted reporting.

Current official signup and access information

The official AiPASS portal offers registration through aipass.go.th or the AiPASS app. Its timeline lists pre-registration from August 19, 2026 and service availability from August 31, 2026. Registration by November 30, 2026 qualifies for the advertised highest-tier upgrade for the first 30 days from first use. That promotion deadline is still upcoming; account activation and logged-in services have not been tested for this guide.

What is TH-AI Passport?

TH-AI Passport is the digital and AI upskilling programme for Thai people administered by the Office of the National Digital Economy and Society Commission (ONDE / สดช.) under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES). AiPASS is its platform, bringing AI tools and learning together. The Learn to Earn approach connects learning with access benefits for study, work, and business.

Who is TH-AI Passport intended for?

The official FAQ confirms Thai nationality and age 15 or above, with five million registration entitlements. Foreign nationals are not eligible. Verification through ทางรัฐ (Thang Rath) or ThaID is required.

Consent for minors

The terms effective August 19, 2026 require participants aged 15 or above who are still minors to have consent from a legal representative or guardian where the law requires it. Students, workers, entrepreneurs, public servants, and the general public are among the intended users.

Current access and learning benefits

The official programme page displays 34 models from 15 providers, with the catalogue labelled and subject to change. It includes ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, BytePlus and Pathumma ThaiLLM among others. Access is through AiPASS, not a separate paid subscription to each provider. Earlier reports of 12 or 24 models describe planning and procurement, not the current catalogue.

Learning-based tiers and quotas

Project end date needs clarification

The landing page advertises free use from August 31, 2026 to August 31, 2027 and registration from August 19, 2026 to August 31, 2027. However, section 1.1 of the terms ends the project on August 30, 2027. These official sources differ by one day. Confirm the cutoff with programme support; late registration should not be assumed to give a fresh 12 months of use.

Identity, privacy and data handling

The privacy notice (version 1.0, effective August 19, 2026) names ONDE as data controller and covers identity/profile data, prompts, attachments, chat history and learning activity. Although the programme page describes encrypted storage in Thailand, the notice also permits sending conversation data to overseas AI providers for processing. Thai storage does not mean all processing stays in Thailand.

The notice and terms, section 6.8, allow de-identified data to support National LLM and government Thai AI development. External-provider model-training opt-out applies where providers support it; this is not a blanket promise that data is never used for training. The notice lists chat retention of up to one year, including Temporary Chat, with public-interest exceptions.

How to register for TH-AI Passport

Follow the registration instructions on the official government portal. The older de.aipass.net page remains reachable, but its instructions now identify aipass.go.th and the AiPASS app.

Registration steps

  1. Go to aipass.go.th, or follow its official App Store or Google Play links for AiPASS.
  2. Sign up using a Google, Microsoft, or Apple email account.
  3. Read and accept the terms and personal-data notices/consents shown by the platform.
  4. Verify your identity with ทางรัฐ (Thang Rath) or ThaID, then complete your profile.

For registration or cutoff questions, the portal lists 24-hour support: 02-021-0300 and aipass@bde.go.th. Remaining places and individual account access have not been verified here.

About the online training

The current programme page advertises 100+ courses overall and separately lists 17 partner courses: Microsoft (10), Google for Education (1), and OpenAI (6). These are different scopes, not 100+ courses from those three partners alone. The FAQ still describes more than 96 courses. Lessons, assessments and missions earn points; digital certificates depend on completing the relevant criteria. Check the live catalogue rather than treating either headline count as a guaranteed account-level inventory.

Stay safe

  1. Start at aipass.go.th and use its app-store links — double-check the URL spelling every time.
  2. Do not pay a broker, share an ID image, or enter a one-time code because of a social-media post or an unfamiliar website.
  3. Prepare to use AI well: practise clear prompting, verify important outputs, and start with non-sensitive work.

Latest TH-AI Passport updates

  1. Current portal information checked. Government-domain signup/app routes, tier rules and privacy documents reviewed. This is our review date, not a new government announcement date.
  2. 34 models / 15 providers. This is the information date printed on the official catalogue, not proof that every model was added that day.
  3. The official timeline lists availability from 09:00. This guide has not tested authenticated use.
  4. The portal lists pre-registration from 09:00; the terms and privacy notice carry this effective date.
  5. Thai PBS reported procurement of 24 models from 14 providers and a 1.621-billion-baht contract. These are procurement details, not today's access list.

Is TH-AI Passport signup open?

How will identity and prompts be handled?

ONDE is the data controller. The privacy notice permits overseas AI processing and de-identified data use for National LLM development; external-provider training opt-out applies where supported. Read the notice and terms, effective August 19, 2026.
